B.J. Bishop Wetlands Restoration Project

B.J. Bishop Wetlands Restoration Project

Fred Phillips Consulting, LLC (FPC) worked with the Trans Pecos Water Trust and the Terry Bishop Family for three years writing grants, designing, and planning the restoration of 20 acres of wetland and riparian habitat on a fallow agricultural field in Presidio, TX using treated wastewater. The design and implementation was lead by staff at FPC. As the Engineer of Record, George Cathey completed all analysis, design, and construction documents (drawings, specifications, engineer’s estimate & quantity take-offs) for the new wetland and riparian complex, in close coordination with FPC’s restoration team. The design included a site grading plan, water delivery pipeline retrofits to deliver treated wastewater to the site, and erosion protection and water level control improvements.
