Construction is well underway at this 160-acre restoration site located on a historic meander of the Lower Colorado River. The project is designed to restore a mosaic of native wetland, riparian, and upland vegetation to a site previously dominated by salt cedar and phragmites. Oxbow Ecological Engineering, LLC, in close collaboration with Fred Phillips Consulting, provided modeling for habitat and water optimization as well as technical assistance with the grading and water control structure design plans. The Raise The River – Reconnect The Colorado video blog presented by Dr. Osvel Hinojosa Huerta of Pronatura Noroeste provides a great introduction to this amazing project.
